The Marlow Pool League 2008/9 |

History
The Marlow Pool League was originally formed way-back-when in 1984. Since that time, the League has seen teams not only from Marlow but also Bourne End, Wooburn Green, Flackwell Heath, Maidenhead, High Wycombe and Hambleden nr Henley on Thames. Many of the original members and teams still play in the League today.
Currently, for the 2008/09 season, we have teams from Hambleden and Marlow and we have recently welcomed teams from Maidenhead.
Since its original inception, the League has always been competitive but also an extremely friendly place to play pool. Much of this is down to the current members and in particular to our Treasurer, Tony Allen, who for many years ran the League virtually single-handedly.
Today things have moved
on somewhat and the League is now affiliated to Berkshire County who are
in Region 7 of the English Pool Association. We have started to take an
active part in County pool events, with a number of players playing for
the County and also representing the Marlow League in the Interleague
competitions. A notable success being Marlow qualifying fourth out of nine
teams in the December 2006 qualifying tournament.
